Susan is the President of the Mind & Life Institute, a role she assumed in December 2015. She has held leadership, academic, and clinical roles that have largely focused on fostering resilience through studying and teaching contemplative practices in health care and higher education. In addition to over 80 scholarly articles and chapters, she wrote a book for the lay public, “Leaves Falling Gently: Living Fully with Serious & Life-Limiting Illness through Mindfulness, Compassion & Connectedness.” In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and hiking the Blue Ridge with her husband and their two dogs.
